Meizu 16Xs launches with Snapdragon 675 SOC and triple rear cameras is a mid-range smartphone and competing with some already existing devices in the market.
Meizu launched the 16s last month with high-end specifications such as 48MP rear camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Moreover, today, the brand has launched the 16Xs, which is a mid-range device.
Its name implies that it is a predecessor to the Meizu’s 16X which was launched last year. Last year when the company launched the 16X, it was powered by Snapdragon 710. However, the newly launched 16Xs is powered by the Snapdragon 675.
We are not interested in numbers because Snapdragon 675 is a lot better compared to Snapdragon 710. However, when it comes to GPU performance, Snapdragon 675 is having Adreno 612 GPU whereas the Snapdragon 710 has an Adreno 612 GPU.
The first phone launched by Meizu with a triple rear camera is the 16Xs. The 16s which is a high-end device, but it won’t have a triple rear camera.
In terms of design, Meizu’s 16Xs does not differ from previous phones. The display is bezel-less with no cutout or notch on top. However, still, the device possesses a screen to body ratio, which is 90.29%. However, there exists a tiny bezel on the top as well as on the bottom.
You will find the headphone jack and the USB Type-C port located at the bottom of the device along with the grill of the speaker. The brand did an excellent job by placing the fingerprint scanner in the display, instead of on the rear.
In terms of viewing the screen the Meizu 16Xs has an 18.6:9 Full-HD + resolution 6.2-inch Super AMOLED (2232×1080) screen. At 430 nits, there is not a very bright panel. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor based on 11 nm, clocked at 2.0GHz and coupled with an Adreno 612 GPU. The phone is equipped with 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and storage of 64/128 GB.
I am talking about the camera the device 16Xs is having equipped with three cameras on the rear. The phone has a primary 48 MP camera with a with Samsung (GM1) sensor, 6P Lens, f/1.7 aperture and PDAF. The secondary camera is an ultra-wide 8MP, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, and 118.8-degree FOV.
Finally, coming to the third 5 Megapixel camera, which is a Black & White sensor instead of a depth sensor, this sounds interesting.
The phone is equipped with a 16 Megapixel camera on the front with 5P Lens, f/2.2 aperture and it also includes features like HDR+, AI Beauty, Portrait Mode, and a Face Unlock.
The features of the rear camera include Scene Recognition, Super Night Scene, HDR+, Multi-Frame Noise reduction, Portrait Mode and PDAF.
The device has a 4,000 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging for rapid refilling. Out of the box, the device runs on Android 9 Pie with Flyme OS 7 on top.
