This is a blog post intended to help our visitors in the process of installing Windows 10.
Installing windows 10 is a straightforward process if done correctly, or else, it might become a headache. In this post, I will try to explain the installation process from starch. It does not matter whether you want to install on a laptop or a desktop PC. So let’s get started with the installation process step by step.
First you have to check if your system hardware is eligible to run Windows 10.
Below I mentioned the list of minimum hardware requirements for Windows 10.
- For this OS to run, a minimum 1 GHz processor is required.
- The requirement for Ram is different for 32-bit OS and 64-bit OS. So 1 GB is sufficient for 32-bit OS, whereas 2 GB is required for 64-bit OS.
- Similar to Ram, the requirement for hard drive space differs for both 32-bit OS and 64-bit OS. Only 16 GB is sufficient for 32-bit, but if you’re going with 64-bit OS, 32 GB is required.
- The graphics card required for both 32-bit/64-bit OS is the same DirectX 9 or later as the WDDM 1.0 driver.
- Display a minimum of 800×600.
- Internet connection is required for downloading updates or for Microsoft assistance in the event of any problems.
The hardware configuration, as mentioned above, is only a minimum hardware requirement for running the OS (as per Microsoft Windows). But it is better to go with a higher setup than the minimum hardware requirement.
About Windows 10 licence
Hope you purchased the license from the official website of Microsoft.
I would recommend purchasing a genuine license before you proceed with Windows 10 installation.
Because if you’ve planned to crack it with some Keygen, then you’re playing with your system’s security.
Assuming you have a valid license, let us now proceed with the installation processes.
Follow the below mentioned instruction to Install Windows 10 on your Laptop/Desktop PC.
First, take a backup of all data that exists in your system. To take a backup, you can use a DVD / USB drive or any other external drive.
Take a USB pen drive or a DVD to create Windows 10 installation media. To download the Windows 10 installation tool, you have to go to Microsoft’s official website.
Once you reach there, click on the “Download tool now” button.
For more clarity, refer to the image given below.
(The image will be uploaded soon.)
Now select the location where you want the files to be downloaded.
Once the download is complete double click on the downloaded file to begin the process.
If you are interested in reading the license terms, then go ahead and read it or else you can directly click on the “Accept” button.
Here you will see two options.
1. Upgrade this PC now
2. Create installation media
As we are doing a clean install, you have to select “Create installation media.”
Again a new dialog box appears where you will select the following.
Language: Select the language whatever you like.
Edition: Select Windows 10
Architecture: Here, you have to choose 32-bit or 64-bit.If you are having a 64-bit process or go with the 64-bit version or select 32-bit version only.
Click Next button.
Here you will need to select any one of the bootable flash drive or create an ISO image file. If you wish to use a DVD, then select ISO image file or bootable flash drive for pen drive. It does not matter which one you choose as both do the same job. So now you are ready for installation with a DVD / USB flash drive.
Now you have to refer your system manufacturer manual to set the first bootable choice to the USB or DVD drive. So follow the instructions are given in the manual and when done restart the system.
Now the system should include booth from USB/DVD that contains the installation file of Windows 10.
Here you have to select the following options
- Language to install.
- Time and currency format.
- Keyboard or input method.
Once fields, as mentioned above, are filled click on next button.
Click the Install now button in the center of the dialog box.
In the coming dialog box, you will be asked to activate windows.
Link to Windows Activation process.
You can now select the version of Windows 10 that you want.
Now Click on Next button.
If you want to read license terms, then you can or else “Accept” to proceed further.
You will see a new window, “Which type of installation do you want?“
As we are doing a clean install, select the second option Custom: Install Windows only (Advanced).
Now you delete all the partitions that were created earlier. And make new partitions as per your requirement and click next to proceed further.
From here onward the time-consuming installation starts.
Once it completes, you have to set a few options like Cortana, region, keyboard layout, and signing in. There is nothing to explain about them follow the instruction shown on the screen.
So finally your installation process is completed, and your PC is up and running.
